DAY 1
SAN CRISTOBAL DE LAS CASAS- PALENQUE
Transfer in the morning from your hotel in San Cristobal de las Casa to Palenque. Dinner on your own. Overnight at the Chan Kah Resort Village & Convention Centre or the Maya Tulipanes Hotel.
DAY 2
PALENQUE
After breakfast (included) a transfer to National Palenque Park. Upon arrival a guided visit of Palenque with a professional guide. Palenque is the most beautiful of all Maya cities, due to the magnificent architecture nestled in a magical natural setting and the abundance of carved panels that have been discovered at the site. After lunch (included in your tour) you will visit the site museum (entrance fee included) , where you will find the pieces that the Carnegie Institute and the INAH Mexican archaeologists discovered since research started in Palenque more than one hundred years ago. You will have some time to see more of the site in the afternoon on your own if you wish. Dinner on your own. Overnight at the Chan Kah Resort Village & Convention Centre or the Maya Tulipanes Hotel.
DAY 3
PALENQUE – SAN CRISTOBAL DE LAS CASAS
After breakfast at your hotel (included), you may go on an optional birdwatching tour with a professional guide at the Catazaja Lagoon, 28 kilometers north of Palenque . The Catazaja Lagoon is an important wetland ecosystem, with an abundance of bird life and one of the few remaining sanctuaries of the manatee, a rare and endagered species... (Please indicate your interest. If you decide to take this tour you need to be ready to go at 5:00 a.m. at your hotel's front desk). Alternatively, you may spend the day on your own or visit Palenque again (transfer to the site and back to the hotel is US$ 10 per person). At 2:00 p.m. you will have a transfer back to San Cristobal de las Casas. Farewell!
