Early morning transfer from Flores to Bethel, either by collective bus transfer with other passengers or on a private basis. Boat transfer to Frontera Corozal on the Usumacinta River, that divides Mexico and Guatemala, and continue to Palenque by ground transfer.

Free afternoon and dinner on your own. Overnight at the Villas Kin Ha Hotel near Palenque Park or the Chablis or Maya Tulipanes Hotels in the village of Palenque.

After breakfast at your hotel (included) transfer to Palenque Park for a guided visit of the site with a professional guide. Your nature reserve and park entrance fees are included. Palenque was strategically located to dominate the lowlands of Tabasco and the passage from the highlands to the coast in ancient times. The art and architecture at the site speak of a great past, one of prospertiy and glory. After lunch (included in your tour) you will visit the site museum (closed on Mondays). Transfer and overnight at your hotel. Evennig and dinner on your own.

Very early this morning you have the choice of having a collective bus transfer to Flores, 40 miles from Tikal National Park in Guatemala, or to take a guided tour of the sites of Bonampak & Yaxchilan, on a private basis, instead, on your way back to Flores. Please be ready to go at 6 a.m. at your hotel's front desk to go to Flores and Tikal directly.

Alternatively, your guide will pick you up at your hotel at 7 am and take you to the ancient Maya cities of Bonampak and Yaxchilan. Breakfast along the way is included. Guided visit of Bonampak, where you will see the most impressive Maya murals discovered thus far in the depths of the Maya jungle. After your visit you will proceed to the village of Frontera Corozal, where you will travel downriver by boat on the Usumacinta River to the ancient Maya site of Yaxchilan (park entrance fee included).

Here your guide will share interesting stories with you about the life of Jaguar Shield and other dynastic rulers, who reigned this land in the Maya Classic period. After your visit to the site and lunch back at Frontera Corozal you will continue by boat to Bethel, where our driver will be waiting to take you to Flores. On arrival at Flores you may continue to Tikal or to Belize as well as to Guatemala City.
