Your driver will pick you up at your hotel in Palenque for a group transfer to Frontera Corozal at 6 a.m. (collective bus transfer with other travelers) or a little after if you chose to have private transportation instead. You will enjoy a plentiful breakfast on the way. On arrival at the Usumacinta River boat transfer to Bethel where our driver will be waiting for you in the Guatemalan side. Continue overland via Flores all the way to Tikal Park. Free afternoon on your own or experience a fantastic sunset over the the Tikal skyline. Overnight at the Jungle Lodge or Tikal Inn.

Go on an optional birdwatching or sunrise outing with your guide at 5 a.m. After breakfast at your hotel (included) go on a guided visit Tikal Park with a professional guide, park entrance fees and lunch included. Tikal is the largest excavated site in the American continent. It is a UNESCO declared world heritage site and Guatemala's most famous cultural and natural treasure. Tikal National Park covers an area of 222 squiare miles (583 square kilometers) and is a nucleaus zone within the Maya Biosphere Reserve. After lunch at your hotel visit the Sylvannus G. Morley Ceramics Museum or the Lithics Museum at the Tikal Visitor Center on your own. Tikal's museums house some of Tikal's most valuable treasures. Transfer to your Flores hotel for overnight for an early morning departure to Palenque the following moning or stay in Tikal a second night. |
At 5 a.m. collective transfer from your hotel in Flores to the Bethel border on to the Usumacinta River where you will board a fast outboard motor boat for your transfer to Frontera Corozal and from there on by land to your hotel in Palenque. You may also choose to depart from Tikal a little later with private transportation instead.
